We now have a Woodmaster 725 helical head planer that allows us to plane up to 25" wide and with minimal tear out even in highly figured hardwoods, such as this hard maple.
We still primarily use our Logosol PH360 4-sided planer for large volume work, but we can also skip plane through the Logosol before doing a final pass on the Woodmaster.
And adding to our capabilities further, the Woodmaster also converts into a 6 blade gangsaw. We mostly will be using this to produce farm and surveying stakes more efficiently, but it also came in handy producing trim and baseboard from the maple shown above.
